GOD’S WORD

God's Word:

The Center of Our Worship

In the bustling chaos of the world, where countless distractions vie for our attention, it is all too easy for our faith to become diluted and our hearts to grow weary. However, as believers, we have been called to fix our gaze on something far greater, on a source that is unchanging and unfailing—the Word of God. It is this very Word that serves as the solid foundation upon which our worship rests, shaping and guiding every aspect of our lives as we journey through this fallen world.

God’s Word is Living and Active

The Word of God is not just a historical account or a collection of moral guidelines; it is the living and active breath of God Himself. In Hebrews 4:12, we are reminded that "the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." It is through the power of His Word that God reveals His character, His will, and His promises to us. It is through His Word that we find comfort, conviction, and transformation.

Know God’s Word; Know God

In our worship, we seek to align our hearts and minds with the very heart and mind of God, and this can only be achieved through the diligent study and application of His Word. Through the reading, exposition, and meditation on Scriptures, we come to know God intimately, learning about His love, grace, and faithfulness. As we encounter His Word, it speaks to us personally, addressing the deepest longings and struggles of our souls.

God’s Word: A Light for Our Path

Furthermore, the Word of God ignites passion within us, stirring our hearts to respond in worship. Psalm 119:105 declares, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." It serves as a guiding light that leads us out of darkness, revealing the beauty and truth of Christ. As we immerse ourselves in God's Word, we are transformed and filled with zeal for His glory. It is through His Word that we learn to love our neighbors, forgive our enemies, and offer our lives as living sacrifices pleasing to God.

God’s Word is Our Anchor in the Shifting Sands of Our Culture

By centering our worship on God's Word, we guard ourselves against wavering beliefs and worldly influences. We become rooted in the unchanging truth of God's Word amidst the shifting tides of culture. It becomes our firm foundation, shaping our theology, values, and actions. It equips us to discern between right and wrong.
